Q: How is Naxos Music Library World priced? Back to top
A: Naxos has built its reputation on providing affordable access to fine music. Naxos Music Library World is a continuation of the same concept. Institution administrators decide how many users they wish to have access to the service simultaneously (minimum five for a university / public library, three for a school). The more user counts they subscribe to, the lower the subscription fee will be on average.
Q: Are there titles on Naxos Music Library World that one cannot buy on CD? Back to top
A: Yes. Some recordings are only available digitally. Recordings already deleted from a label’s physical CD catalogue can remain available digitally.
Q: Who pays the collection societies for the use of musical works which are still in copyright? Back to top
A: Naxos does. We have agreement with the Hong Kong collection society CASH and ASCAP for the ASCAP repertoire. CASH has agreements with other collection societies. Please note that subscribers to Naxos Music Library World do not have the right to publicly perform the content, for example, in cafeterias or other public spaces.
Q: Do we need any licence or agreement to play the music in class / lecture? Back to top
A: No. Naxos Music Library World 's music may be streamed in a classroom / lecture room during class / lecture. The Fair Use Policy of your institution or local performing arts societies will govern how you can use content that is in copyright.
Q: Can I have a free trial subscription? Back to top
A: Yes, we are happy to offer you a free trial. Please contact a Naxos representative in your country if you would like a trial for an institution / library. A list of contact can be found in the login page. If you are an individual subscriber, you can have a 7-day free trial by clicking on the SUBSCRIBE NOW button at the login page.

Q: Can I set the landing page and streaming sound quality? Back to top
A: Yes. Administrator and librarian may select the Home page or New & News page or Playlists page to be the default landing page for their institution. Streaming standard sound quality or premium sound quality is dependent on the type of subscription subscribed for.
Q: How do I log in? Back to top
A: There are two options.
1. Go to https://www.naxosmusiclibrary.com/world, type in your username and password and click the Login button.
2. Institution subscribers may need to first login through a different website such as their library portal. This could mean logging into off-campus resources, visiting a certain login website for orchestra members or patrons, etc. Please coordinate with your librarian or email Customer.Service@Naxos.com.
Q: What is IP authentication? Back to top
A: IP authentication is validation of a subscriber account through the institution's IP address, which is a unique number for each computer.
Q: How many simultaneous users can access the library? Back to top
A: There is no limit to the number of simultaneous users an institution may purchase. Users decide this when purchasing a subscription. Naxos Music Library sales representatives are happy to help you choose a subscription that best meets the needs of your institution.
Q: Is it possible to download the music on Naxos Music Library World or burn it to CD? Back to top
A: No. Naxos Music Library World is a stream-only resource. Any downloading or burning sound files from Naxos Music Library is strictly prohibited and violates both copyright law and the Terms of Use agreement. There are links to commercial stores to purchase or download some of the albums if the subscribing institution permits to display them.
Q: How reliable is the service? Back to top
A: Since Naxos Music Library World content is streamed online, the reliability of the service is dependent upon the quality of service provided by your local Internet Service Provider. Q: Why am I getting the message "You are not authorised to view this page"? Back to top
A: This message means that you are entering the service from an Internet location where the IP address is not included in your institution's list of valid IP (Internet Protocol) addresses.
Q: Why am I getting the message "The maximum number of simultaneous connections of your subscription has been reached"? Back to top
A: It can be due to one of the following reasons:

Subscriptions are set to allow a certain number of users to be logged in at one time. Always remember to click the Log Out button at the top of the screen when you finish using Naxos Music Library World to ensure that you clear your connection. Closing the browser or going to another site without clicking the Log Out button will keep your user space occupied and can sometimes prevent you or other users from logging in.

If you are using a subscription via an institution, other patrons from your institution are currently filling all the Naxos Music Library user spaces purchased. Please ask your librarian to consider increasing the number of simultaneous users allowed into the service. This will make it easier for all users to gain access as needed.

If you are an individual subscriber who has not logged out properly from a previous session, you will still be considered logged in for up to an hour until your subscription times out. Only then you can log in again.
Q: What do I do if I get the message "Login Failed"? Back to top
A: Please make sure you type in your username and password correctly. Both fields are case sensitive. If the problem continues, please email customer.service@naxos.com providing your full name, email address, login information and description of the problem.
Q: Why do I get the message "Sorry. Your license has expired"? Back to top
A: It is likely that your subscription to Naxos Music Library World has expired. If you access Naxos Music Library World via a subscription from an institution, please contact the relevant personnel in the institution such as a librarian. If you believe the message to be an error, please email Customer.Service@Naxos.com with your full name, email address, and when the subscription was purchased.
Q: Why do I get the message "Invalid library card number" when I log in to Naxos Music Library World? Back to top
A: This may be happening because there is a problem with the library card number that you have entered. Please retry. If you still get the same message, please email Customer.Services@Naxos.com with your full name, the library card number, and the address of the web page where you have tried to log in.
Q: What is a timeout? Back to top
A: A timeout happens when a user's session has been idle or inactive for longer than a specified period of time. A session is considered idle or inactive when there is no activity (i.e. no keyboard / click interactions and no music streaming) from the user on NML World. Kindly note that paused player is not considered to be an activity. For institution users, the timeout setting can be set on the My Account Setting page. When the timeout happens, the user session is terminated. A space is freed up. The user will be required to log in again.
Q: What does "session has expired" mean? Back to top
A: The "session has expired" message will appear if you have remained idle or inactive on the site after the timeout setting has been reached. Please see “What is a timeout?” above.
Q: How do I make a copy of my screen and send it to Customer.Service@Naxos.com for trouble-shooting? Back to top
A: Windows users:

(1) Press the PRINT SCREEN key.
(2) Open a new email to customer.service@naxos.com. Report the problem along with the screenshot captured. The latter can be done by pressing V while holding the Control key.
