Bush, Geoffrey
(3/23/1920 - 2/24/1998)A chorister at Salisbury Cathedral, Geoffrey Bush continued his education at Lancing College and at Balliol College, Oxford, joining the extramural staff of Oxford before moving to the same position at London University. His training as a composer was initially at school (where his teacher, Jasper Rooper, was a former pupil of Vaughan Williams) and then through his own studies. His compositions, in a number of genres, are largely traditional in form and content.
